Microsoft Outlook 2010 bug that affects Tagle (and other Outlook related apps) - fixed in 2.0
Mon, 04/04/2011 - 16:44
After dragging and dropping a few emails or attachments from Outlook 2010 into Tagle you'll notice some peculiar behaviour:
- Each subsequent email you drag from the same Outlook folder will append the previously dragged attachments into the upload dialog.
- Each time you open one of the emails you dragged into Tagle, all the others that were dragged in previously will open along with it (like they are "grouped" together somehow)
This extremely annoying bug is entirely due to an issue in MS Outlook 2010 and unfortunately nothing we can yet control in Tagle.
The manual work around is to select any other folder within Outlook to "reset" the grouping behaviour.

Tested and confirmed in Outlook 2010 64 bit version. Not sure about 32 bit yet. Check back to this forum post for updates.

The following patch is available for Tagle to get around the drag and drop bug in Outlook 2010:
The patch forces Outlook to move out from and back into the folder from which you uploaded your emails which resets the "Grouping" thing that Outlook does. You may notice your Outlook screen flash momentarily when you drop the message into Tagle right before the upload dialog appears. This is normal.
This is not the most elegant solution, but until Microsoft fixes this bug in Outlook 2010 it looks like the best path forward.
Please post to this thread if you encounter any issues after applying the patch.
Fixed now in Tagle 2.0
